Two Detentions in the Aftermath of Heathrow Irritant Spray Attack

The assault resulted in the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park.

An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where 21 people sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, two women were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was among the injured during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later discharged.

Officers detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were alerted at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of people injured by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

The attack - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
